High-Temperature Laboratory Furnaces
The furnace body is fabricated from profiled sheet steel with a stainless-steel frame filled with ceramic
brick. Insulation consists of ceramic fibers based on aluminum oxide; together with optimized airflow,
this keeps heat losses to a minimum. The door opens translationally via a lever-and-spring mechanism and
is packed with appropriate insulation. Heating elements are made of molybdenum disilicide
(MoSi2, “Super Kanthal”) for operating temperatures up to 1800 °C. The furnace is
powder-coated and oven-baked for durability.
